The Chronoclassic 2 is universally compatible with most motorcycles. For fuel-injected bikes, it connects directly via CAN-bus. For non-fuel-injected vintage motorcycles, you will need a Motoscope Breakout Box (model 930311 for Harley-Davidson J1850, or 936577/936578 for other applications) to enable the indicator lights and full functionality.
No. The digital LED matrix is only active when the motorcycle is running. When switched off, only the classic black gauge face is visible, preserving the authentic vintage appearance of your motorcycle. This design feature is one of the key selling points for purists seeking period-correct aesthetics.
The 512-LED matrix display has two lines. The top line shows gear position and speed or RPM, switchable at the touch of a button. The bottom line displays additional values such as Trip A, Trip B, or other selected functions. Speed can be displayed in km/h or mph up to 999. The display automatically adjusts brightness for optimal readability in sunlight or darkness.
The shift light is adjustable from 0 to 20,000 RPM via the control button on the gauge. This allows you to set the exact RPM threshold at which you prefer to change gears. The adjustment is simple and requires no special tools—just press and hold the button to cycle through your desired shift point.
The 11 indicator lights monitor critical engine and motorcycle functions: immobilizer/alarm (Plug & Ride only), fuel reserve, oil temperature, water temperature, engine control/MIL, ABS, ASR, oil pressure, left turn signal, right turn signal, high beam, neutral, and universal warning light.
