About us

Craftsmanship meets engineering

Every bike we build is a collaboration between you, the rider, and our team of skilled craftsmen.

Rik de Gooijer

Founder & Master Craftsman

With over 20 years of experience in motorcycle engineering, Rik de Gooijer has dedicated his life to perfecting the art of custom BMW builds. Starting out as De Motor Dokter and known from his channel Rik Repairs, Rik founded Dapper Motor to take his craftsmanship to the next level.

His journey began with a passion for vintage motorcycles and evolved into a mastery of both traditional craftsmanship and modern fabrication techniques.

Every Dapper Motor build reflects Rik's unwavering commitment to quality, attention to detail, and respect for BMW's engineering legacy.

Where Rik builds with his hands, I build with technology. I bring the story of Dapper Motor to life digitally: solid engineering and smart software that genuinely make life easier for you as a rider.

My passion for technology, motorcycles and design comes together here, with one goal.

Bringing everything around custom motorcycles together in one story. The story of Dapper Motor.

Craftsmanship over volume

From hand-built custom BMWs to seamless technology

Dapper Motor starts in the workshop: custom BMW motorcycles, built entirely to your wishes. No fast moving goods, but slow moving custom builds. Small series and no rush. A motorcycle gets the time it needs.

But the story does not end with the build. Around every motorcycle we create seamless software and hardware solutions for the demanding rider. Safe, beautiful and tuned to your every wish, so technology takes care of you instead of getting in your way.

That is how a community grows around our motorcycles: riders who love exceptional, perfectly tuned technology. No webshop distance, but personal contact, from the first idea to the first ride. Class, service and perfection, brought back together.

The Adler Rik restored

Long before the first BMW, Rik brought a classic Adler back to its former glory by hand. A piece of history that shows where the craft began.
