All about shock absorbers
Which set fits my motorcycle? A set is a front shock and a rear shock in one order, for bikes that need a shock at both ends. Pick your make, model and year in the bike selector and you only see the sets that fit. The range is mostly for BMW right now.
There are 25 sets from YSS for models with a Telelever at the front and a mono shock at the rear, such as the R850, R1100, R1150 and R1200 C, model years 1992 to 2007. A set has no single length: the length of the front and the rear shock are both in the product code.
Check those lengths on the shocks that are on the bike now, from the centre of one mounting eye to the other. If you only want to replace one end, look at the front shocks or the mono shocks.
About ABE: about half of the sets have an ABE, with the KBA number on the product. If nothing is shown, the status is not confirmed yet.
Frequently asked questions
Which set fits my motorcycle?
Pick your make, model and year in the bike selector. You then only see the sets listed for your bike. If your bike is not there, ask us before you order.
What is in a set?
A front shock and a rear shock. The length of both is in the product code, not as a single number.
Do I have to replace front and rear together?
No. A set is handy when both ends are due. If only one end is worn, look at the front shocks or the mono shocks.
Do sets have an ABE?
About half do, with the KBA number on the product. If nothing is shown, the status is not confirmed yet.
When should I replace the suspension?
When it leaks oil, when the front or rear bottoms out or keeps bouncing, or when damping feels softer than it used to.
